I am writing this post, drinking a cup of tea and listening to the thunder here in the desert. Quite a contrast to this `tropical` styled shoot by the `Oh Happy Day` team all the way from South Africa. After spotting little pink flamingos, all over facebook and instagram, I was thrilled to be able to share this shoot with you. Filled to the brim with inspiration and ideas of how to create a fun bridal shower, this is really something on trend!
A word from Jolene from`Oh Happy Day`:
As a wedding stylist and event designer based in Kwazulu-Natal, I am incredibly passionate about show-casing my beautiful province. For this reason many of my styled shoot collaborations happen in wide open spaces and at carefully-chosen locations that show prospective brides the beauty of having a wedding or any kind of celebration in Kwazulu-Natal.
Styled shoots are the perfect outlet for creative energy, and it was so much fun working with the other talented creatives who are also responsible for our Tropical Heat Styled bridal shower.
The conceptualisation behind this shoot focused on a group of girls sipping cocktails and having a blast at a bridal shower in a beautiful trendy location. From a creative point of view, this was a fun change from our normal romantic bridal/wedding styled shoots , and it was great to be able to think out of the wedding box for few hours. The shoot took place at The Salt Rock Hotel in Kwa-Zulu Natal – which set the tropical tone for the rest of the day. Palm fronds and gold pineapples – it doesn’t get more on-trend than that!
You can read more on what aspects to take into account when planning your own tropical bridal shower on my blog post here , For now, though why don’t you just enjoy these images as you sip on a cup of tea (while actually wishing it was a pina colada!)
