Rainbows & Unicorns – 7th Birthday Party

I find featuring events involving family and friends really special as it is really personal and close to my heart.  Today`s post is extra special as it features a little girl, Annika`s, 7th birthday party.  Annika was one of my Year One pupils, so I got to know her and her family very well.  Annika`s mum Deepika is the founder of the famous  Marina Mums` group and if you have met her then you will understand what I mean when I say she is full of life and has lots of energy.  It is no wonder Annika has the same personality traits and even more fitting that she chose a bright, cheery Rainbow theme for her party.

A word from Annika`s mum…

We absolutely love celebrating and planning birthdays.  Party planning starts 4 months in advance with a theme to decide.  Annika is a December baby , so for the first 3 years her themes were mostly christmas related.  By the time she grew older we discovered that she is a natural party planner with very unique and specific ideas.  We celebrated her 4th birthday with Christmas animals, her 5th party was a Rockstar party complete with pink and zebra stripes and CD tracks of her favourite songs and her 6th was a Super Hero party!

On her 7th birthday she surprised us with a “Barbie Unicorn Rainbow” party request, yes she stumbled upon this very unique and specific request. 3 Months and 4 sticker charts completed with a grand prize of her dream birthday she finally got what she worked hard for!
Emma Reidel the founder of Me & Riley is a dear friend, and my go to person for all my individual party needs.
From organizing my baby shower 7 years back , we share a very special relationship where Emma has been a part of more than 10 birthdays I have celebrated in total for both of my girls!  I love their unique and original decor, that are styled to match your individual needs!
Since the theme was Rainbow – Unicorn (I omitted the barbie after much convincing), Emma’s brief was to be super colourful and vibrant.  I loved the new ‘Ghost Chairs’ for kids which gave the party an urban edge.  We arranged for a party of 40 little Kids, and asked Me&Riley to provide us with  a party coordinator for the duration of the party! Dinis their teenage assistant was absolutely fab with the little kids, his energy was enough to keep 40 kids on their toes.
We were blessed with amazing weather so we chose the ‘Al Sufouh’ park right behind Gems WIS .  It is a quaint little park, with lots of parking! The location was great. and you can find a private little sand play area , where the kids can play after the games are over.
Annika had a lovely time on her 7th birthday it was so much fun organizing this along with supporting so many business run by Mums!
I am grateful  to support women following their dreams no matter how big or small they maybe and in the process having the time of my life celebrating each milestone with both of the girls!
