A natural, relaxed maternity shoot…

Sharing a maternity shoot on ‘I am captivated’ is always a great honour as we can only imagine how much the soon-to-be parents must treasure their images!  So thank you Lauren and Lloyd for allowing us to share these moments with you as you awaited the arrival of your little bundle.  There is something so special in this couple’s eyes as they dreamt and pondered about their life changing adventure that was about to begin.  Once again Mardon Photography have captured natural and authentic images and I love the colours Lauren chose for her outfit – neutral for the desert and turquoise for the sea.  As Lauren is a friend of mine, I was actively involved in her pregnancy and organized her baby shower here in Dubai making it even more exciting to feature their photographs.

A few words from the mommy-to-be:

Maternity shoot location…

Our maternity shoot was on the beach next to the Palm.

Cravings while being pregnant…

Not too many, just cheesecake and red meat, oh and chocolate milkshakes.

A one stop shop in Dubai for all your necessary  baby goodies…

The Baby Shop and Mothercare really stock all you need at affordable prices.

A little bit about your baby shower…

My baby shower was a surprise, organised by my very special friend Carolyn (you).  It was so lovely to have all these ladies celebrate with me and everyone really spoilt us, my husband and I were blown away.  All the ladies decorated these little wooden boxes, which now sit in a glass bowl in the nursery, it is a lovely reminder of that day and I cannot wait till Gracie is older and we can go through all of them so she can see all the people who care about her. Carolyn (you) really outdid herself with the attention to detail and activity ideas. It was a very special day.

Colours for your nursery…

am not a pink person so I decided to do a baby blue colour scheme with hints of soft pink and beige,

Your favourite item in Grace’s nursery…

My favourite item is a pinboard that I made myself.  It hangs right above Gracie’s crib and we pin Polaroid pictures of her on it.

Your favourite place to have a cup of tea in Dubai…

I like Paul’s Cafe in Dubai Mall or JBR walk.

Your favourite place for a cup of tea now that you have Grace…

It has been a bit difficult during summer as you have to go where you can sit inside, but I would have to say Lime Tree Cafe in Jumeirah.

Your favourite holiday destination…

Definitely Mauritius (or anywhere beachy), it really is a relaxing getaway.
